HOME FOR SALE IN GREECE NEAR THE SEA AND THE TOWN OF SERRES

We are a family from Greece and live near this property, which is ours. It's a detached house with a living area of 103 m². It features three bedrooms, a built-in bathroom, an open-plan living room with a kitchen, and built-in wardrobes for clothes, jackets, and shoes. There's also a back attic. The heating system consists of radiators warmed by a marble fireplace with three marble-lined chambers. Modern concealed lighting is installed throughout. The water heater is powered by electricity and a solar panel, which works well even in winter as it's new. There's a front (facade) terrace, perfect for a table and chairs, where you can enjoy lunch and dinner in the fresh, airy climate. The house plan also allows for the construction of a second floor. Behind the rooms, there's an additional storage area. The plot on which the house is built is 300 m² and is located in a quiet neighborhood, not far from the town center with shops, public institutions, playgrounds, and typical Greek churches.

The price of the property is 135,000 Euros!... Along with the costs of notarization.

The distance from the house to the city of Serres and to the sea with the beach is the same – 30 km or about 20 minutes by car. The beach is on Orfani Bay [Strymonic Gulf, or Rendina Bay (in Greek: Στρυμονικός)]:

Despite global and local inflation, the village isn't yet depopulating. It's well-developed and generally lively, due to its location on the main road connecting Serres with Drama-Kavala-Xanthi. It also benefits from being a fertile agricultural region at the southern foot of the extension of Bulgaria's Pirin Mountains. Unlike crowded Greek cities, which are often filled with housing and hotels and lack greenery, this village boasts abundant parkland and fruit trees, along with the refreshing coolness of the nearby mountains.

In summer, the climate isn't intolerably hot like in central and southern Greece. Winters are mild, and snow only occasionally falls, melting quickly, especially in recent years due to global climate change. The proximity of the mountains ensures a reliable water supply and protection from strong northwesterly winds.

Who is This House For?
This house isn't suitable for business people who need daily banking and logistical services. However, it's perfect for people who work entirely online. It's also ideal for retirees looking for a quiet, rural retreat away from city noise, especially if they're focused on addressing health concerns. Furthermore, it's completely suitable for middle-aged individuals looking to invest by renting out the house – and currently, it has satisfied tenants. For this last category, we hope they won't evict the current tenants and replace them, as we get along very well with them

Then Why Are We Selling This House, Since it is So Good?
You'll see how precisely and tastefully it's been built and furnished inside. We genuinely wanted to fully live our lives here, but our expanding business and family obligations, including those to relatives in another nearby village, have cornered us to the point where we no longer have the time to maintain it and reap the benefits described above.

Even the most luxurious house can become a prison if you don't interact with the people around you, if you're not connected to civilization and communications. The village where the house is located certainly won't be your prison; it will be a hub for cultural contacts and communion with nature, with an excellent supply of groceries, household goods, and everything else a large city offers.

VIEWS FROM THE VILLAGE

The areas a few kilometers around inhabited places can also be a problem for health and well-being. Imagine if there were industrial enterprises spewing smoke nearby, or if there were landfills collecting waste not just from your village, but from surrounding settlements too! Clearly, life in such a toxic environment would be unbearable. However, you'll see the clean and almost pristine nature around the village, along with cultivated fertile fields and gardens, far from poisonous highways.

VIEWS AROUND THE VILLAGE

A drawback of the house is that it's not located directly on the seashore. However, for some, this can be an advantage, as holidaymakers and beachgoers always create a lot of noise, much mess, overcrowded shops and restaurants, and wasted time from crowds and disorder. Therefore, for many people, it will be better for the sea to be at a significant distance from the house. The distance, however, is not despairingly great (only 30 km), it would take us no more than 20 minutes by car.

THE SEA AND THE BEACHES – 30 KM FROM THE VILLAGE

“Religion is the opium of the people!” – so claims a well-known philosopher. Yet, it's an undeniable, scientifically proven fact that when you are in a church, your non-chemical internal energies increase, strengthening your immunity and very often even curing illnesses – these are the so-called “miracles of healing”. A miracle ceases to be a miracle when it's explained. For us, it's important at least to absorb the external aesthetic of Greek churches (shown in the pictures), and for those who have the time and conviction to also utilize their energies, it will be of great benefit.

TYPICAL GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCHES

The “establishments of free living” are certainly not lacking in the village. Their interiors are well-arranged without being intrusive like an advertisement or a means for decadent amusement and thoughtless consumption. All in all, the village lacks nothing to be described as modern.

RESTAURANTS AND TAVERNS

Unlike enormous multi-million population cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki (Salonika), Patras, and similar ones, which are hideously overbuilt, have polluted air, and where people barely pass each other on the narrow streets (predominant there), Serres (30 km from our village) as a regional city is neat, welcoming, and healthy. Perhaps this is because it's located at the foot of the extension of Bulgaria's Pirin Mountains or because it's a transit settlement, passed through on the way to other larger and more important cities and regions.
